Lili M. Sardiñas, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with diverse communities and high-risk populations. She currently serves as Director of the Implementation Science Division at Grupo Nexos, where she leads the development and implementation of evidence-based programs and interventions to promote wellness and reduce health disparities.
Throughout her career, she has participated in national and international research projects on parenting and early childhood, mental health, gender issues, problematic substance use, risk behaviors, and organizational health. She has also played a key role in developing and managing the Inter-American Archive of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices, the first Spanish-language digital database dedicated to evidence-based programs in Puerto Rico.
Dr. Sardiñas is a founding member of the Puerto Rico Evidence-Based Workgroup (EBW) and serves on the scientific staff of the Puerto Rico Evidence-Based Board. Since 2011, she has also served as a scientific partner with the Familias Saludables Puerto Rico program of the Puerto Rico Department of Health, a home-visiting program that supports families from pregnancy through the child’s third year of life.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Albizu University, where she received the PhD Outstanding Student Recognition Award. She was also awarded the Carlos & Ermida Albizu Prize by the Puerto Rico Psychology Association for the best doctoral dissertation of the year for her research, “Surrogacy: A Study Among Puerto Rican Women.” In addition, she collaborates on expert panels, advisory boards, and capacity-building efforts in Puerto Rico and internationally.
