New Policy Section: Strategic Priorities for Puerto Rico
The new Public Policy section is now available on our website, a digital space designed to share analysis, research, and proposals aimed at transforming the systems that affect the well-being and public health of Puerto Rico’s population.
This initiative responds to the need to strengthen evidence-based decision-making across key areas, including public health, economic development, community organizations, and social policy. To this end, our public policy team integrates research, experience, and multisectoral collaboration to drive sustainable solutions.
As part of this effort, federal public policy priority briefs are now available. These strategic documents present concrete analyses and recommendations to address some of Puerto Rico’s most pressing structural challenges.
The main focus areas are:
- Workforce development for the future economy as an engine for economic and social growth in Puerto Rico.
- Sustainability and innovation in community-based organizations (CBOs), a sector that serves nearly 700,000 people annually and faces a structural crisis in funding and institutional capacity.
- The transformation of the health system in Puerto Rico, given the increase in chronic diseases and the fragmentation in the provision of services, which limits the system’s efficiency.
Who are these resources for?
The federal public policy priority briefs are designed for public sector leaders, non-profit organizations, academia, and officials who influence decision-making. These documents are a data-driven guide for designing and implementing more effective public policies.
The new section will also include content on the analysis of federal and state public policy, legislative monitoring, and briefs on proposed legislation, as well as other updates to facilitate access to relevant information for the country.
